Dress Code

Wollaston Golf Club is an exclusive, member owned, private Golf club with the aim of a relaxed, but conservative, dress code.

Wollaston Golf Club is an exclusive, member owned, private Golf club with the aim of a relaxed, but conservative, dress code. Tasteful and appropriate attire is expected at all times. Members, children ages four (4) and older, guests and visitors are expected to be suitably attired at all times on Club premises..

Members are responsible for informing their guests of the dress requirements prior to their arrival at the Club. Members and/or their guests can be denied use and access to the Club’s facilities if dress is inappropriate. 

All clothing must be neat, clean, un-tattered and otherwise orderly. Appropriate shoes or dress sandals must be worn everywhere in the Club with the exception of the pool area. 

Dining throughout the year will be informal and smart casual/proper golf attire except for special events, which may be designated as formal/semi-formal.

Inappropriate Dress – Club wide:

Rules cannot be written that can possibly address every instance of inappropriate dress, but here are some requirements: 

  • No ripped, soiled, stained, cut off or torn clothing.
  • No T-shirts, cropped tops, tube tops or halter tops, except in the pool areas.
  • Slacks and golf shorts must be worn at the waist line. Cargo shorts are not acceptable. 
  • Sleeveless shirts of any kind for men are not allowed. 
  • Changing of any clothing must be done in a locker room. Changing of any clothing, including shoes in the parking lot, is prohibited.


Clubhouse & Dining Areas:

  • Proper golf and tennis attire may be worn in all areas of the Clubhouse. 
  • Shirts and shoes are always required in the Clubhouse. Men’s shirts must have a collar and shall be tucked in at all times. A turtleneck or mock turtleneck is considered a collared shirt. Shirts with a collar that are specifically designed to be worn outside the pants or shorts are acceptable. 
  • Women’s sleeveless or spaghetti strap dress or top that is part of an outfit is acceptable as long as it does not bare any midriff and is of a conservative cut. 
  • Mid-thigh length skirts and shorts are appropriate. 
  • After tennis and swimming, going into the Clubhouse requires appropriate warm-up/cover-up attire and shoes. 
  • Sport hats are permitted on the Patio and Locker Rooms only. The bill of the cap must be worn forward. Gentlemen’s hats must always be removed in dining areas of the Clubhouse. 
  • Gym/yoga apparel is not acceptable Clubhouse attire. 
  • Dress jeans are only allowed in the Clubhouse for social and dining purposes. Jeans are not to be ripped or torn.


Golf Course and Range

  • Jeans are never allowed on golf course grounds. Other inappropriate attire includes: short shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, tennis or swimming attire. 
  • Men’s golf shirts must have a collar (mock turtlenecks are acceptable) and are to be tucked in at all times. 
  • Women’s sleeveless golf shirts must have a collar. 
  • Sport hats must be worn forward.
  • Shorts and golf skirts must be at least mid-thigh in length.
  • Newer golf apparel sold by popular golf manufacturers will be allowed under the condition they are in keeping with our policy of appropriate dress codes.


Club Social Events

  • The Dress Code may vary depending on the event, and will be included in the event publication.


Tennis Courts

  • Tennis shoes and tennis attire are required for play on all courts.
  • White and/or colors are acceptable. No street shoes, swimsuits, or cut-off blue denim pants or denim shorts are allowed.
  • Black soled shoes are NOT allowed on the courts.


Pool

  • Appropriate cover-up and shoes/sandals should be worn to and from the pool and in the parking lot, as well as when entering the clubhouse from the pool.
  • Blue jeans/cut-off shorts are not permitted in the pool area.
